Rome Ciampino and Rome Fiumicino airports are the city of Rome's principal airports, serving both the domestic and international markets. The Ciampino Airlink allows passengers to travel not just during the day into the city at a cheap rate, but provides an affordable, fast service into central Rome for just 2.70 euros per person (one-way) at night too. The final service of the day leaves Ciampino Airport at 22.40 hours. Buses leave every 15 to 20 minutes for Campino train station, from where trains leave for Roma Termini. The whole journey takes just 34 minutes to complete.
Terminals 1 and 3 are within a short free shuttle ride of several parking facilities at Rome Ciampino Airport. About 1,000 parking spaces, all uncovered and at street-level, are within a short walk of the terminals. Car rental companies have their rental stations at parking facilities P6, P8 and P12. Bus companies operating out of Rome Fiumicino Airport include Sit Bus Shuttle, Tambus, Terravision and Rome Airport Bus. Ticket prices range from 5.90 euros to 7.00 euros per person for a single ticket, similar to bus ticket prices from Rome Ciampino Airport.
Wizzair, Ryanair, EasyJet, Eurowings and Emirates, whether you want to use a budget carrier or a flagship airline, you will find what you are looking for at both of Rome's airports.
Taxi ranks are located at both Rome Ciampino and Rome Fiumicino airports just outside the terminals' arrivals areas. A trip into central Rome costs ca. 45.00 euros for 1 to 4 passengers, for a single journey.
Both airports also have Flixbus services to offer, which allow for cheap onward travel to destinations outside Rome and other parts of Italy. Flixbus travels into central Rome 22 times a day, ticket prices starting at just 3.00 euros per person.
Rome Fiumicino is linked to Rome Termini via its own railway stations. Trains run every 15 minutes and take only 32 minutes for the trip into central Rome. Regional FL1 trains connect with long-distance Frecco trains to Padua and Verona, Florence, Naples, Venice and Bologna. Tickets can be purchased in advance at https://www.trenitalia.com/.
Trenitalia offers both standard class and first class tickets on its trains. If bought well in advance, tickets for both standard and first class compartments can be very heavily discounted.
